To forgive is difficult. Forgiving does not mean that you have to continue to have a relationship with a person who has harmed you or done something to hurt you. Forgiving is deciding that whatever the other person did is essentially over and you are not going to spend time thinking about what the other person did to you. You will not be thinking about how you can get revenge or get back at the other person. Forgiveness is a process that will make you feel better. It is not for the other person. Forgiving is for you to get over the hurt. Forgiving does not mean that you have to like the person or continue interacting with the person. Forgiving will make you feel better.
