People like to hear themselves talk. It is important to say what you want but, after you finish, be quiet and listen to what another person has to say. This is common courtesy. Don't interrupt and let the person speak and say what is on their mind. Often, people speak and then don't pay attention to what anyone else has to say. Listen carefully and you will be able to respond in a sensible way. Sometimes there are situations requiring listening and not responding. Learn when only listening is required and try to respect the other person without speaking. Listening is an important part of learning and getting ahead in life.
